You will also contribute to the development of junior analysts and help strengthen underwriting practices across the specialty lending team. Candidates must reside in an eligible U.S. state and bring strong financial modeling, credit judgment, and communication skills. \n Accountabilities

Specialty Credit Underwriting: Independently analyze and underwrite complex lending transactions across specialty sectors, including litigation finance, fund finance, leveraged lending, life settlements lending, and other designated industries.

Collateral and Repayment Assessment: Evaluate non-traditional collateral and repayment structures, including legal asset-based receivables, enterprise valuations, and specialized real estate or other asset-backed arrangements.

Asset-Based Lending Analysis: Build and monitor borrowing base calculations, advance rates, and collateral eligibility assessments for asset-based lending facilities.

Litigation Finance Risk Evaluation: Assess case merits, jurisdictional considerations, legal counsel experience, case management capabilities, and anticipated recovery or settlement timelines.

Fund Finance and Leveraged Lending: Evaluate sponsor experience, loan-to-value and loan-to-cost metrics, capital structures, and the feasibility of proposed exit strategies.

Credit Reporting and Presentations: Prepare detailed credit presentations, underwriting analyses, and risk assessments for review by credit management, specialty lending portfolio leadership, senior management, and loan committees.

Complex Transaction Structuring: Analyze multi-entity borrowers, special purpose vehicles, participation arrangements, and syndicated lending structures commonly used in specialty finance.

Mentorship and Technical Guidance: Support junior credit analysts by sharing specialized underwriting knowledge, analytical methods, and best practices.

Market and Regulatory Monitoring: Track industry, legal, and regulatory developments affecting specialty lending and incorporate relevant insights into credit decisions.

Risk Management and Compliance: Ensure underwriting activities align with internal credit policies, applicable banking laws, regulatory requirements, and established risk management standards.

Requirements:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.

Professional Experience: At least 5–7 years of progressive credit analysis experience, with direct exposure to specialty, structured, asset-based, or non-traditional lending strongly preferred.

Financial Analysis: Advanced proficiency in commercial financial statement analysis, cash flow modeling, credit structuring, and evaluating unconventional repayment sources and collateral.

Asset-Based Lending Expertise: Working knowledge of borrowing base construction, advance rates, eligible collateral criteria, and UCC lien priority.

Receivables Financing: Familiarity with accounts receivable financing concepts, including dilution, debtor concentration, and account debtor creditworthiness.

Specialty Lending Knowledge: Understanding of litigation finance fundamentals, including case merits, jurisdictional risks, legal counsel track records, and anticipated settlement or verdict timelines.

Structured and Leveraged Finance: Familiarity with loan-to-value and loan-to-cost analysis, sponsor-backed mergers and acquisitions, sponsor experience, and exit-strategy viability.

Independent Judgment: Ability to independently evaluate complex, non-standard credit structures, make sound risk assessments, and manage a high-volume workload.

Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present complex credit analyses and recommendations to loan committees and senior stakeholders.

Location Eligibility: Must reside in one of the following states or jurisdictions: West Virginia, Virginia, Texas, Florida, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Washington, D.C., New York, New Jersey, Arizona, North Carolina, Georgia, or South Dakota.
