Developmental Specialist/Early Childhood EducatorThis position offers a salary range of $51,000 to $60,000. Thom Child & Family Services located in Norwood, MA is seeking a Developmental Specialist/Early Childhood Educator to join their team.As an Early Intervention Early Childhood Educator or Developmental Specialist, you will be responsible for providing home and community-based early intervention services to infants and toddlers who have or are at risk for developmental delays and their families in both their homes and community settings. You will partner with parents/caregivers to ensure service delivery is individualized, meaningful for the family, and grounded in evidence-based practice. Through this collaborative process, you ensure families' priorities, needs, culture, and values are prioritized.Thom Child & Family Services offers competitive salaries and a comprehensive benefits package including, but not limited to:Compensation & BenefitsSalary range: $51,000–$60,000, based on relevant skills, qualifications, and experienceProductivity bonus opportunitiesMileage reimbursement403(b) retirement plan with employer matchSchedule & Paid Time OffFlexible FT, PT, Per Diem, and flexible hoursMonday–Friday schedule, generally between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.Generous vacation time96 hours of sick time annually12 paid holidaysUp to 24 hours of professional development/conference time annuallyHealth & Insurance BenefitsMedical, dental, and vision insuranceFitness benefits and wellness incentive programEmployer-sponsored Health Reimbursement AccountSection 125 flexible benefits plan for medical and dependent care expensesEmployer-paid long-term disability insuranceEmployer-paid life and accidental death and dismemberment insuranceEmployee Assistance ProgramOptional coverage is also available, including:Short-term disability insuranceAccident insuranceCancer insuranceProfessional Support & DevelopmentPaid professional license renewal feesClinical supervision and structured orientationOngoing mentoring and team supportScholarship opportunities through the Fazzio Scholarship and Thom AcademyTools ProvidedEmployer-issued laptopEmployer-issued cell phonePosition Responsibilities:Participate in multidisciplinary team assessments of the client's developmental status.Assess family and child strengths/resources, concerns, and progress.Provide child and family centered services and activities developmentally appropriate for children birth to three and their families using parent coaching model.Provide service coordination by scheduling, developing, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating the intervention plan for each family, ensuring that appropriate procedures and timelines are followed.Partner with families in the development of Individual Family Service Plans (IFSPs) to identify goals, objectives, and strategies related to the child's development.Facilitate parent-child interactions to encourage child's development; assist families to act as advocates for their child.Complete progress notes, reports, assessments, and correspondence as appropriate using the Thom electronic documentation system.Provide individual and group intervention for infants and toddlers from birth to three years old who have developmental delays or who are at risk for delays in the areas of cognition, adaptive behavior, social-emotional development, self-care, fine motor, gross motor, and communication.Position Requirements:A Bachelor's Degree with a major or concentration in infants and toddlers (includes Early Intervention and Early Childhood Education), child development, child studies, education or special education and at least 300 hours of practicum or work experience with young children.Experience with infants, toddlers and families is preferredKnowledge of family systems and early childhood development.Ability to engage in meaningful, therapeutic relationships with children, parents/caregivers, and community partners.Commitment to delivering individualized and culturally humble services.Excellent written and verbal communication and organizational skills.Abide by all confidentiality and professional boundaries standards.Good computer skills as well as strong documentation skills.Current driver's license and reliable transportation.Bilingual/Bicultural a plus.NO PHONE CALLS OR RECRUITERS PLEASEThom Child and Family Services is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
